So, you're anxious. Or, have complex trauma. Or, have been known to dissociate on occasion.
Maybe you're in therapy, or between therapy, or done with therapy.
You definitely feel like "normal" people have some kind of cheat code to a successful life that you missed out on.
Hello, human with a Quirky Mind.
You're in the right place.

Live monthly workshops, weekly groups, replays, and self-paced options
Live monthly workshops and weekly small groups (mostly online with some in person options) offer practical, evidence-based help for anxiety, complex trauma, and dissociation. Sessions are clinician-led, evidence-based, and specifically designed to help those with Quirky Minds feel that they now have the "cheat codes" they have always been missing. Replays and self-paced options let you learn on your schedule and revisit what works.
Choose the format that works for you and start working with your Quirky Mind instead of against it.
One Person, So Many Quirky Minds
Groups and classes for current clients, future clients, and people I'll never meet
Why did you start the Quirky Minds project?
I've been a mental health therapist since 2019, and I have specialized in severe anxiety, trauma and complex trauma (CPTSD), and dissociation since the beginning. I always I knew that I wanted to work with people with complex diagnoses, and I remain honored and humbled that people let me go along with them as they heal.
Just because I love it doesn't mean it's easy work.
I have to limit the number of clients I see to prevent burnout, and to make everything balance I have to charge more for individual therapy than some people can easily afford. There are lots of other great therapists out there, but not everyone can be a severe anxiety and dissociation specialist. I turn away one to two people a week who are looking for help because I'm full or because the cost does not work for them at this time.
I spent time thinking what I may be able to offer that would make the most impact.
I've identified three major areas that adding groups and classes can address:
- In-depth focus on specific topics which affect almost all my clients with severe anxiety and dissociation.
- Expanded access for dissociation-informed care beyond the 22 clients I can see each week.
- Increased understanding for mental health providers of how severe anxiety, complex trauma, and dissociation may show up in their practices so they can work with it more effectively.
I don't want to help everyone, but I do want to help who I can.
I don't want to go viral. I don't want a "six-figure launch of my signature coaching program."
I have specialized knowledge that, if you happen to be someone who needs it, may make a genuine difference. I want to help you, whether you are a current client who wants to move ahead in a specific area, a future client who will someday be in my practice, or someone with a Quirky Mind who I will only know as someone who took a course.
What's with the possums?

Somehow, a possum resonated with the mix of effective and weird that I'm aiming for with my classes. There's no toxic positivity here. I'm not promising unicorns and rainbows. But, no matter what's going on in our lives, we can make the most of our strengths and surroundings.

Possums also seemed a nice balance to the wise-looking owl in the logo for my therapy practice. Like, who am I kidding? I am far more possum than owl (unless we're talking burrowing owls, I might be able to pass for a burrowing owl).

Finally, I have to admit that I could not pass up the idea of having a possum, the literal animal embodiment of tonic immobility, as the logo for a site focused on helping people with severe anxiety and dissociation. Quirky Minds know what playing dead is all about.
